Pin Grading Guide
A-GRADE PINS (Standard)
A pin is considered an “A-grade” pin if it has little to no imperfections that could only be observed when inspected closely. This is the standard pin sold at its normal price.
Possible imperfections include but are not limited to:
- Light scratches on the metal plating
- Small offset of screen-printing
- Slightly over/underfilled enamel in some areas
- Small dust particles in the enamel
- Small bumps around the edges of the pin
B-GRADE PINS (Seconds)
A pin is considered a “B-grade” pin if it has some noticeable imperfections on the visible areas of the pin. These pins are discounted compared to an A-grade pin. While we don’t consider these A-grade pins, the imperfections are barely noticeable at a normal viewing distance. This is a great option for those who aren’t as picky and don’t mind some minor imperfections in their pins.
Possible imperfections include but are not limited to:
- Deep scratches on the metal plating
- Major offset of screen-printing
- Over/underfilled enamel in some areas
- Large dust particles in the enamel
- Noticeable bumps around the edges of the pin
- Other flaws like oxidation or damaged plating on the metal
